SATEC and International Maritime Industries (IMI) have signed a strategic agreement during the IKTVA (In Kingdom Total Value Add Program) 2022 Forum & Exhibition held in Dhahran (Saudi Arabia) last week.
The agreement seeks to strengthen IMI’s digital transformation process through a global vision of the technologies to implement and the processes and infrastructures to manage, with special emphasis on cybersecurity. Additionally, both parties are committed to the development of local talent and, together with the universities, recently graduated students will join the different projects so they can benef from transversal training in different areas related to information technology (IT) and operational technology (OT).
On behalf of IMI, the event was attended by its CEO, Mr. Abdullah Al-Ahmari and Mr. Emad Al Humam, Senior VP Corporate Services and Mr. Fareed Ghulam VP IT. SATEC was represented by Luis Rodriguez-Ovejero, President of SATEC Group, and Abdelatif Al Rahji, President of SATEC Arabia.
SATEC Arabia was founded in 2020 as the union of SATEC Group, a privately owned Spanish multinational provider of innovative solutions and services in the field of Information and Communication Technologies, and Surooh Al-Jazeera Group (SJ-Group), a Saudi business group comprising different divisions, joint ventures and independent companies offering a wide range of products and services to meet the growing needs of the oil and gas, petrochemical, power, water, mining and infrastructure industries. The aim of this partnership is to assist the Saudi companies in their digital transformation processes.
The philosophy of this new entity fully aligns with the general internationalisation strategy of SATEC Group, exporting the know-how and experience of the parent company whilst focusing on the development of local talent in the region.
