Context
Telxius, part of the Telefónica Group, is one of the global leaders in the telecommunications infrastructure sector, with a particular focus on developing submarine cable networks. Since its creation in 2016, Telxius has been instrumental in providing high-speed, reliable connectivity between continents, operating one of the world's most extensive submarine cable networks.
The main goal of the NetOSS Capacity Planning System project is to transform Telxius's operational support systems to enable centralized management of network capacity services, both current and those in the planning phase. This goal is crucial for improving service planning and provisioning, optimizing network capacity use, and facilitating strategic decision-making.

Challenge
Before implementing the solution, the company faced several significant challenges. The project, known as the NetOSS Capacity Planning System, aims to transform operational support systems to enable centralized management of Telxius's capacity services, both deployed on the network and in planning stages. Specific challenges include:

Cable and Network Resource Management
Enhancing the tracking and administration of network resources and cables.

Data Migration
Transferring data from Excel files to the new application.

Dashboard Development
Creating a dashboard to calculate network occupancy and provide detailed, user-friendly visualizations.
Solution
To address these challenges, Alvatross implemented the Alvatross Service Inventory solution, which offers advanced transmission network capacity management features. This solution includes:
To address these challenges, Alvatross has implemented the Alvatross Service Inventory solution, providing advanced transmission network capacity management capabilities.
This solution includes:
To manage cables and network resources, reserve services, and migrate data from Excel files to the new platform.

The experience of design, deployment, and configuration with the SATEC team has been highly collaborative and tailored, allowing the solution to be properly adjusted to the client's specific needs, aligning perfectly with the project objectives.
Results
To date, the key milestones achieved include:
Integration
The solution has been integrated with the Telxius inventory system, ensuring smooth data exchange and operational alignment.
Implemented Analytical Features
Interactive dashboards and tables providing detailed analysis have been deployed, facilitating decision-making and graphical visualization of entities.
Simplified Data Access
Employees can now access logical groupings of services available for potential customers and easily navigate to identify available capacity for provisioning new services.
